Joe is an actor and script writer living in Mytholmroyd, the birthplace of Poet
Laureate, Ted Hughes. Joe has a Masters Degree in Screenwriting and is often invited
to lecture in creative writing and classic story structure. He also writes traditional,
story based panto scripts produced the length and breadth of the UK and is fast
establishing himself as one of the countries leading Dames.
TV roles include Mr Booth in Hollyoaks, Father Bruce in 'Shameless', Nigel in Granada
Television's Stan the Man and Gary in the fourth series of Clocking Off. His radio
credits include What a Boss Moss, Best Wishes and The Game of Empire for BBC Radio
4. In addition, he's recently played the following commercial and musical theatre
roles; The Tin Wood Man in 'The Wizard of Oz', Ariel in 'The Tempest', Truffledino
in 'Servant of two Masters', Norman in 'The Dresser', Seymour in the 'Little Shop
of Horrors' and Emcee in 'Cabaret'.
Joe specialises in stage adaptations, with an impressive portfolio of dynamic, inspiring
and engaging plays for Children and Young People. His most recent publication is
Exchanges, a collection of original plays for Oxford University Press. Joe has a
strength for comedy and his long standing experience as a professional actor and
theatre producer informs his writing to produce popular material that is regularly
staged by Schools and Youth Theatres. |
